But destiny was on our side, and the sun came out! We were soaking wet, but it didn't matter! Yippee!
We walked all over Oak Bluffs, taking in the Flying Horses carousel, Mad Martha's ice cream, and Back Door Donuts! (Delish.)
Lunch was at the super cool Sand Bar & Grille, where we had amazing crispy calamari and clam chowder - a meal fit for a tourist on the Cape, essentially.
Then we strolled the cuter-than-cute "gingerbread houses" that Manu got the biggest kick out of.
Want to go to Martha's Vineyard for the day? Take the Steamship Authority ferry from Woods Hole ($16, round trip) and get off in Oak Bluffs. Spend the day walking around and catch a bus to the other towns - Vineyard Haven, Edgartown and Menemsha! If you're feeling adventurous you can rent bikes or mopeds to scoot around the island in as well.
Let me know if you're up for an island adventure, I can give you some tips!

Those jumping pics are amazing! Love love love how enthusiastic and lovable Manu is!
ReplyDeletehaha, those were his idea!! he really is a ray of sunshine! (in one that we took, there are like 10, haha, he has TOTAL dancer body and we were marveling that he should have been a boy ballerina!)
ReplyDeleteThat sky is horrifying but I'm glad it passed. When I went to Philly... we were waiting for the ferry to take us across to a concert. We literally saw the storm come over the river right onto us. CREEPY! haha and hilarious.
