For me, the best thing about summer isn't going to the beach, or swimming in the ocean, or riding my bike outside, or catching fireflies. It's eating, preferably barefoot, the freshest bounties that summer has to offer. (A beer in hand is welcome also, duh.) Yes, it's those late-night, mosquito-invaded conversations over pie, and it's most definitely that feeling you get when you're full and happy and surrounded by everyone you love and the fire's roaring. Here are my top ten summer recipes of 2012 so you can cherish the tidbit of summer that's left.
Now it's up to you, hit me with your favorite summer recipe of the year. Mine was definitely the zucchini chips!
P.S. All of these recipes are vegetarian, except for the Mediterranean Pasta Salad which has some tuna that you could totally omit if you wanted.
These all look delish. I still need to try those zucchini chips! I think my fave of the summer is cherry crisps, made with fresh organic cherries from our CSA share!

ReplyDeleteP.S. I made your lemon pepper pappardelle AGAIN last night.
Oh, wonderful, but I miss your sangria. Doesn't it deserve to be in the top ten? As I believe I commented we had planned to try it, and did, and was a big success. I still have to write about it on my blog. And what about the lasagna? I haven't even tried it yet.
