Even though I’ve done it too many times to count, it still boggles my mind that I can leave my sweet, little, childhood home home and in the same day be back in noisy, bustling, sunny Barletta. The flights were great (maybe I’m actually used to them now) and I had two very funny seat mates who were leaving home to study abroad in Italy. I told them, “I am you future then, as I am going to marry the man I met studying abroad. And here’s my wedding dress underneath my seat.” They freaked.
Airport notes I took:
-Tired travelers and tourists mosey along, looking lost, and then, in a puff of perfume, a pack of stewardesses briskly click by in their comfortable heels holding Starbucks and chatting, heads high like the popular girls at school.
-Want to know where I feel the most underdressed? The airport in Italy.
Now, for those curious about our new apartment, here are a few little glimpses.
Halleluia, space for clothes! Consider that this was where we had to keep everything before, even out of season things.
Spiral staircase!
Glorious, glorious kitchen! I can’t even tell you how excited I am to cook in it. Actually, yes, I can tell you. I AM SO EXCITED TO COOK IN IT.
Terrace breakfast nook!
As you can see, there aren’t enough exclamation points to tell you how much I love it, and how great it feels to be an adult in a real house that has heat, water that doesn’t run out, countertops, a bed that isn’t a mattress on the floor and a door that opens with a remote control!
Hope you are well! So glad you all like this week’s giveaway!
P.S. It must be mentioned that we live above a candy store called Chocolate Land. :)

You have space for clothes!!! I can't believe how much I took my closets in the US for granted, completely naive to the fact that closets aren't abundant all over the world.
ReplyDeleteLove your spiral staircase, my first apartment in France had one.
