european getaway: malaga

You know when you get that itching feeling like it's time to take a trip? Well I've got it, and the place that I really want to see as of late? Malaga. I bet you didn't know that both Pablo Picasso and Antonio Banderas were born in the southern Spanish city of Malaga, or that it is so old that it was founded by the Phoenicians (hello, sixth grade social studies) or that its beaches stretch along forty kilometers of of the Costa del Sol...

Manu and I share a passion for traveling, but it has never been easy to find the time (or money) to take little trips. This year, we are going to make traveling a priority and first on both of our lists is a jaunt over to Spain. Malaga is a city I've wanted to see since my friends went and raved about it. I can't wait to roam the streets, visit the Picasso museum and try all the amazing seafood dishes and varieties of Gazpacho! We're going to use this site to find our flights and a cute bed & breakfast in town. They also offer a super informative travel guide we can use to help us get around while we're there!

What city would you explore on a European getaway?

  6. We drove through Malaga in the spring on our way to Marbella - all of those coastal towns look beautiful.

Joe and I are also making travel a priority while we're in Europe. We just did a long weekend in Belgium and hope to do Berlin & Amsterdam before Christmas. Sometimes it feels like a lot but I really want to take advantage at all that's on our doorstep!

If you go to Malaga you have to make the two hour bus trip to Granada - with the Alhambra, free tapas, and lovely people you cannot go wrong (yes, I live here, but everyone who I have met has loved it).
