buon weekend!

-Can you believe all this bread, freshly pulled from a steamy brick oven, was only two euro? Prices and overall value of important things like bread still baffle me here. They’ve just started to sell whole wheat bread (the little baguettes) in the bakeries here and I couldn’t be happier about it. 

-On Monday, Manu’s sister Cinzia gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl, Nicole. Luckily, we were there the moment they brought her out of the delivery room. It was incredible and reminded me so much of when her first, Giuseppe, was born.

-This year I changed y schedule so that I don’t have to work on Saturdays (most Italians do) and it feels amazing to have a two-day weekend! Don’t take your weekends for granted, people, they are precious.

-Manu bought a blender, and is on a health kick. We’ve been making protein smoothies for the past few days and there is no end in sight. I have so many smoothie ideas, so get ready!
