Love is truly all around us, sometimes you just need to look a little harder to find it. In the dreary winter months, it’s easy to block out the world, sit on your couch and cover up so much when you go outside, that you don’t notice the little moments of love happening around you. A baby smiling at a dog, two friends - old men - playing cards on a bench, the waitress who calls you honey.
"We come from Love, we are sustained in Love, and
to Love we shall return."
-Christian saying
1 cup whole wheat flour (or regular)
1 tsp baking powder
1tsp sugar (optional)
pinch salt
pinch salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon melted butter
Mix the dry ingredients together, and separately, mix the egg, milk and butter. Add the wet to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Heat a skillet over medium heat, and add a touch of butter. When it sizzles, position your heart mold in the skillet. Pour a tablespoon of batter inside (or more, depending on how large your heart is). When the batter starts to set and create little bubbles, gently lift the mold, it should slide right off leaving your heart intact, so you can flip it to the other side. Alternatively, you can use a spatula to flip the heart right over onto the other side to cook, then when the pancake is set the mold will slide right off.
